Ban bossy

The Girls Scouts and have partnered up to lead a new campaign called ‘Ban Bossy’.

When a little boy asserts himself, he’s called a “leader.” When a little girl does the exact same, she most likely will be branded “bossy.” Words like bossy send a message: don’t raise your hand, don’t speak up. The first effects can be seen in school, girls are less interested in leading than boys—a trend that continues into adulthood.

This new campaign raises the issue and wants to create awareness and, thereby, help initiate change.
