Chime for Change

A new global campaign was launched in 2013 to ‘to convene, unite and strengthen the voices speaking out for girls and women around the world.’

This campaign, founded by Gucci’s Frida Giannini, Beyoncé and Salma Hayek and supported by Facebook and the Bill&Melinda Gates Foundation, focuses its attention on three main areas: education, justice and health.

It has partnered with various NGOs and has established a crowd-sourcing platform on their website to support their projects. After a little more than a year, Chime for Change has funded almost 300 projects in 80 different countries, ranging from training Afghan teachers, to empowering girls to resist child marriage in India, and reducing maternal deaths in Cambodia.
