Sauber Formula One – Monisha Kaltenborn

Congratulations to Monisha Kaltenborn for having been nominated the team principal of the Sauber Formula One team at the beginning of October.

Kaltenborn is the first female team principal in Formula One. She has also been the team’s Chief Executive Officer since January 2010.

Now age 40, Kaltenborn started her career in motor sports joining the Fritz Kaiser Group (shareholder of the Red Bull Sauber F1 Team) in 1998 taking over the responsibility for the group’s legal and corporate affairs before moving to Hinwil to lead Sauber’s legal team. She became a member of the Board of Management in 2001.

Kaltenborn is part of FIA’s Women and Motorsport Commission founded in April 2010 and headed by Michèle Mouton. In 2010 at Hockenheim , she was the first woman to attend a FIA press conference, where she was representing the team’s top management, and in Suzuka she stood in for Peter Sauber on the pit wall stand.
